Naturally, everyone desires to fulfill and become all that they are capable of becoming. We all crave to live in a world of our own making – in a world of happiness, of wealth, of success and of peace of mind.
We all wish to prove what we can achieve, the height we can attain, the goals we can beat, the wealth we can get, the success we can testify about and the glory they all bring. While multitudes are busy looking for the shortest cut to success and a life of happiness, the few who finds success are those that reverence the importance of Self Esteem to peak performance.
Self Esteem is manifested in a wonderful feeling of inner balance, grounded on self acceptance and a healthy, comforting self-respect towards you. It is the reason we have different result by different people on the same task. It is the idea behind highly motivated individuals. It is the reason we live in a civilized world. Peak performance is getting to the highest point on how well we achieve a task – how well we do anything.
High Self Esteem is the basis of peak performance. Let’s see a little romance. Self Esteem is the feeling of being happy with your character and abilities. If you are not happy with yourself, you cannot be happy with anyone, nor do you wish to do anything. If at all you’ve got self-confidence about a particular task, a basic fact remains that your attitude determines you a couple of things – your approach to life, your relationship with people, the difference between success and failure, more importantly, your attitude at the beginning of a task will affect its outcome more than anything else.
Your Self Esteem is an attitude in itself, so if you have a low one, you cannot achieve any measure of peak performance. Here’s a quick guide to help you get over with low Self Esteem
Be kind to yourself. If something goes well, reward yourself. If it goes badly. Learn from your mistakes.
Write a list on things you are good at – and read it – many times over and over again. Autosuggestion is self suggestion, it is the only known way we can induce our subconscious. Your attitude comes from the subconscious. So if you can control it by making repeated positive words into them, then you’ve got a winner.
Train yourself to give compliments to others and when you receive one, say “thank you”
